I actually got the suggestion from the forum when I was looking. I ultimatily was only looking so I could project the cost of repair when the issue came up.

Here are some threads on it

This one looks like he installed around 11/14, then says everything is good 1/15

I am waiting quote for powertrain engines.

I live in Dallas area so there are quite a bit of shops that install engine, just a matter of finding out which one is more reasonable.

I went with one from for and had it installed by a certified ford mechanic total 6k
And it's a 3 year unlimited mile warranty and if something happens I can take it to any ford dealer in the US

And the ford one comes with new valve covers oil pan water pump plugs and oil filter

Powertrain offers 2 types heavy duty amd reg longblock

The heavyduty comes w oversized camshaft and few other upgrades. Is it worth it to get these upgrade s?

Personally I'd look at the cost of doing an engine swap in comparison. I've heard a 4BT Cummins can fit easily, and I'm sure a 5.0 would fit easily but might be a fortune to get installed correctly. Maybe a 6.2 V8 would fit even. No idea on pricing on any of that though. Another place you might want to ask about replacing the engine would be performance shops. They deal with things like that all the time so they may be able to help you out even with a stock engine.

If I start doing that and replace the engine with a different size a little be concerned about the rest of the parts such as the transmission and everything else and if it's going to have to be replaced or wear out quicker

Just watch your local Craigslist and nearby areas for used, running engines. I have done this with 3 5.4 3 valve engines now. You should be able to pick up a running engine for less than $1500.

I was trying to copy and paste this from my phone but it wouldnt let me.

Powertrain just got back on prices:

Dressed Longblock: $3,199.00 / in stock / 0 miles / All OEM Parts / comes with an oil pan , timing cover , valve covers , cam phasers , spark plugs , and a full gasket kit.

Heavy Duty Engine: $3,699.00 . in stock / 0 miles / All OEM parts / comes with an oil pan , timing cover , valve covers , cam phasers , spark plugs , and a full gasket kit. Also Comes with a High Volume oil pump / Oversized Crank Shaft / Graphite Coated Pistons / and Moly Rings.

I am not sure about heavy duty engine and if that is worth it or not, any input on that be great.

I currently use this truck to drive in DFW metroplex for First Emergency Responding so it is not uncommon for me to put hundreds of miles in one day. I would think buying this crate engine from them would not only solve my problem but get her running like new again

I have coils I already bought from MSD so those will go into the new engine. My mechanic quoted me 800 to swap motors out, which I felt was reasonably priced compared to what I am reading in these forums

I am not sure if Powertrain sells a installation kit like Jasper does, but I may look into it if needed.
