Default 2007 5.4 tranny?

I've found someone local who has a tranny out of a 5.4 2007 model. Would that tranny fit on a 2004 5.4 ? The tranny only has 20000 miles on it.

yes and no. There are differences. Count how many VSS (vehicle speed sensors) your trans has and ensure that the new one has the same amount.

I forgot when but some had 2 and some had 3. It has to do with the 04-05 and 05-08 differences. However there are always some exceptions.

Just an FYI to keep an eye out for it.

Yes they are the same motor and same trans but there are variations. Also the obvious must be stated 2wd vs 4wd but I bet you are aware of that.

It should plug and play nicely.. Nows also the time for a fresh Tourque converter.. If its a matching set IE: 2wd or 4wd, you could have it bolted up in no time.. I would however recommend you replace your existing or add a tranny cooler at this time if your transmission suffered some sort of catastrophic failure. Debris from a failed Trans will never be flushed out of the cooler itself entirely.
