05 is the most problematic year. Cam phaser issues are high percentage, spark plugs are an issue, esp since that unit already has 100k on it, should've been done by 75k, AND if that isn't enough Ford got some bad injectors which have locked up some engines, though with 100k miles not likely at this point. It'd have to be CHEAP in my humble opinion.....hold out for an 08 if that's what you prefer. It's worth it to get what you want!

Thanks for all the info guys.
I want a stock one becuase moded ones do scare me. I am not sure of the people who wrench on vehicles so I do all my work myself.
I am shooting for a 2007-2008 but all the ones that I can afford are really high miles 120K or more.

Default my choice

I'd go with any truck that has a combo of 'most stock-like' setup & lower mileage. I personally do not think that buying a used truck with oversized tires is a smart move. Not to say that people that trick their truck out and put big tires don't take good care of their truck, but I think they are more likely to drive it harder. Just my opinion.

Id ride it out and wait till you find a '07-'08 if you're set on those years. Don't get the '05 way to many issues to gamble with.
