2006 F150 FX4 leveling kit
I own a 2006 F150 FX4 Crew Cab that I love dearly. I am having a hard time trying to decide if I need to buy a 2 inch, or a 2.5 inch lift for my truck's front end. I am considering buying Hell Bent Steel's billet aluminum 2.5 inch leveling kit that is listed on Ebay for $85, but I know that more isn't always better. I don't want to have make any more mods to the truck, and I don't want a front end that is higher than the rear. Should I get a 2 inch leveling kit instead? I have been researching the net, and I have been reading conflicting things.

I have an 08 XLT super crew and Ford tells me that I need 2.5. I would think yours is the same but don't take my word for it. What I would do is go to Ford dealership and ask the guys that mod the trucks and ask what they would use on your truck.

You could always measure from your center cap to your fender to get the difference. That will tell you exactly how high you need to go to be level. Just measure in a few different places (parking lot, driveway, etc.) and take the average (to ensure you're doing it on level ground and not getting a bad measurement.)

I have a 2.5 HBS that i just put on my 08 I have measured it a number of different times and it sits level but to me it looks a little taller in the front. To solve my problem I am just putting a taller block on the rear vs going to a 2in. I'd rather have the extra clearance.
