2006 F150 Exhaust
I have a 2006 F150 with the 5.4 L 4x4 Northland Edition. I just got the truck did a few little things but nothing too major. I live in WI. I would like to put an exhaust on my truck. There is the very common exhaust leak on the passengers side manifold. What is the opinion of you guys. I am not looking to turn this into a race truck or anything, just look and sound good. I thought about doing headers and a full exhaust but that might be excessive for this since its my daily driver. I considered a flowmaster super 44 (I like that sound a lot) but heard that have an issue rusting, I live in WI. Looked at a kit on ebay the removes stock muffler and back. It is replaced with flowmaster super 44 and dual pipes after the muffler. I have some money to spend, and will be doing installation on my own. Have tools and welder. Is there a magnaflow stainless similar to the super 44? What's a good set of headers if I wanted some since manifold leaks anyways? Should I just stick with $300 and super 44 flowmaster and dual tips since looks and sounds good, then just fix manifold leak and put stock manifold back on? Thanks in advance.

I rusted out two flowmasters within 1 year. So I wouldn't buy them ever again. Stick with something stainless. Right now I am running Banks Monster SISO. Its full stainless and I will never have to worry again. Plus it doesn't have drone at highway cruising like the Flowmasters did.

I also live in WI and just put on a Borla stainless muffler. Won't have to worry about that rusting this winter. If you're doing your own install, you can definitely buy a stainless muffler and stainless pipes for under $300. I think I priced out mine at $275. Very glad I did it too, it's nice to have a little bark.

Can anyone give me links to the exhaust you ordered?
Based on what I read I am going to go with a stainless, not flowmaster.
If I wanted to do this is sections like starting with headers, is there a decent set of headers that will bolt to the rest of the stock exhaust?
Or I would order a full system if I can get it for like $400 or just cat back for now and like I said, do it in sections.
Would really like links to any systems you have that have the nice deep rumble like the superr 44 flowmasters give.
Thanks.

That looks like a really nice set up, If I just decided to order a banks muffler and do a tip instead of the whole catback system would it still sound nice with the deep rumble?
