2006 F150 3 button keyfob OEM
Can anyone point me in the direction of reliable good plastic, good electronics OEM possibly 3 button keyfob for my 2006 F150. I've bought a couple of the 10 dollar ones and the plastic broke within weeks and the electronics were very short ranged and slow to respond. Just looking for someone with recent experience with a vendor.
I have looked online and would just like a recommendation from someone who has had good experience with someone.

When you say "short ranged", keep in mind (from the owners manual) .
The typical operating range for your remote entry transmitter is
approximately 33 feet (10 meters). A decrease in operating range could
be caused by:
• weather conditions,
• nearby radio towers,
• structures around the vehicle, or
• other vehicles parked next to your vehicle.

Thanks, I think it was more delayed than short range. I was having to hit the button three times before it would unlock. Since I was usually walking towards it, I assumed it was range but now I think maybe it just wasn’t working the first couple of times. . I was well within 30’ of the truck.

You could find an Ace Hardware that uses the Duracell fobs. They come from the same company as the oem, and are cheaper than a dealer. Personally, I would get that ebay flip key. I found one similar and really like it. You should be able to use the 40 or 80 bit transponder, as the 80's are backwards compatible.

Good question ....
Obviously the chip is there......I paid $10 to have the key cut then programmed it in the parking lot in, literally, 30 seconds. I like the switchblade key so much that I ordered another. It was guaranteed to work with my '06 5.4 and it's functioned perfectly from moment one that I programmed it. I highly recommend it...👍

Just bought one of the Ebay flip ones mentioned for my "05 but after watching a couple youtube videos it doesn't look I'm going to be able to program it as my truck only came with 1 keyfob and 1 key, and from what I'm now understanding you need 2 of each, is this true?
