Default Photo whoring, F-150 style! Wash and wax day! (56K NO!)

well the weather FINALLY is nice enough to hand wash my F-150 for only the second time since its re-birth at the end of last year just before winter hit and man did she need it! already had rust spots on the brand new paint from the brake rotor debris, the bumpers didnt look chrome anymore and the wheels were disgusting! i hate winter, glad its over. it was 80+ degrees out today, yes thats right, 80 degrees in michigan in early april so it was only fitting i wash the damn dirty truck. lol

some of my weapons, not pictured are the SOS pads i used to clean the chrome

the nastyness before cleaning

I'm still in the "new vehicle mode"

my 2009 is still nice and shiny, but sadly, I now I too will one day fall into the habbit of letting it go for that extra week or two..

came out pretty good.
is that where all the little rust spots come from? the brakes? i thought it was something they put down on the roads in the winter.

I just got done detailing my white FX4. I went over the whole truck with my porter cable using an orange pad (cutting) and some 3M fine cut compound.

Then I went over it today with my white pad and polish. Came out great but damn, the white vehicles leave you somewhat blinded by the time you're done!

Why dont you wash it during winter? Must have to do with location because mine goes to the autospa every 2 weeks, year round.

Because if they wash it sometimes the doors won't open after, the water freezes the doors shut (had this happen this winter, rained really hard then a flash freeze)... Also, the first layer of grime helps protect the paint from the 15 other layers that come every week...

Looks great!

Down in here 'bama it was in the 80's as well. All of the pollen is drenching the cars around here! I've been just washing mine off with water during my lunch break... Need to get a good wash and wax soon.
