Default 2006 f-150 5.4 engine oil usage ??

I bought a 2006 Ford F-150 (5.4 engine) with 47,000 mile on the OD.I changed the oil with kendall 5W-20 syn.oil and wix oil filter.I now have 50,200 on the OD and it,s 1 quart low.Is that normal usage?Thanks for any information.coobie

How much oil did you put in, and I'd make sure you don't have a leak somewhere

Make sure you push the dipstick all the way in. Mine can get stuck if u don't push it flush w the housing...it will give u a false read as if you were low.

If no leak and it's but ing a bit I'd change it out at or before 4k and grt an oil analysis. It will tell u if u have a high amount of wear metals or any coolant present...or high amount of fuel present in the oil...etc

1 full quart.No leaks that are visable,I park in my pole barn on a cement floor and don,t see any oil on the floor.coobie

The 5.4 needs exactly 7 quarts, how many quarts did you buy?

And the real question is WHY?Not trying to be a smart ***** but I have owned many ford trucks and have NEVER seen 1 quart of oil between oil changes.coobie

The piston rings could be worn or the cylinders may be out of round

My 2001, and my 2004 have all used oil between changes.
