Just got a great deal on an 05 with only 105,000 miles. I've been reading about upgrading to towing mirrors and have seen a lot of comments on either side of the argument of the possibility of adding turn signal and puddle light when upgrading.

I understand that the heater is probably a no-go but shouldn't the turn signal and puddle light be a simple hack?

I understand that the 05 wiring harness doesn't have the extra wires in the harness if you didn't have the upgraded mirrors already but I have also read that that might not always be the case either.

Before I invest a chunk of change and start pulling off door panels I though I would get some expert advice from those that have been down this road already.

One last thing... Is it possible to just buy and replace the harness to get the necessary connections? That was just an afterthought and might be pipe dreaming.
