That was my original thought, I like the look
But with the "corrosion"/peeling I'm not sure the paint would stick for any length of time
Did you have any peeling when you painted yours ?
I'm going to black out the wheel wells to get rid of the factory red you can see
So blacked out rims would look good too

I'm going to ask my co-worker if he has any left over, if he does I'll give it a try

I ran across a set of 2011 Raptor wheels for like $500. I think this style looks better than most aftermarket wheels (needed new tires anyway).

That's the style I like, did not realize they were Raptor wheels
$500 is a good deal _ I think....haven't even looked at rims yet
But I know even plain stock rims can go over $200 each

That is a picture I found on google.....I have factory 20's that are aluminum. Plastidip sticks to anything that is clean.

OK, Thanks -to everyone for their input
I've been searching this site since yesterday for different ideas
Always seem to come up with a 1,000 threads, but did not see anything like my problem

Off to the Auto store shortly to see what they carry
I'd like to get the wheel wells done & PU some wheel locks
If I can get the center area painted then I can do the rims in the Spring
Fall is here, only 58 out right now....high of maybe 68 this afternoon
Maybe 70's next weekend, but have family arriving so next weekend is out

Kid & Wife took off to a friends house so thought of a quick cleanup
BENCH GRINDER !!!...Ok...wire brush attachment actually
This is the same center cap -the worse one
The circle is Alum, the middle Ford oval appears to be plastic
Wire brush took off all the corrosion & remaining plastic
Just a few bits I used my knife to scrape off, then quick sand w/220
Looks much better, good enough to Plasti-dip
And looks like I may be only working one day this week, need a new job

So tomorrow I'm going to see how they look after being stripped down & dipped
Has to be better then what they look like now
The only part I could not strip w/bench grinder wire wheel is the middle oval
Not sure if that will be a problem but guess I'll find out
Seems the middle oval is just a sticker that is applied ?
6 PC set on Amazon for $14 -red & black, then just clear coat ??
Maybe a "custom" oval sticker instead ?

Ok, starting on the next 3 caps
Worst one should clean up, but most of the Ford stickers on these are not coming off too easy
Just used a small knife to pry up the edges & pull the Ford sticker off
I'll have to use a wire wheel on the drill to try to get the middle cleaned off
---1st I'll try a heat gun to see if they will peel off easier
The Ford sticker has raised lettering, so unless removed it will stick out
-especially if I put the red/black stickers on

This is the worst of the remaining 3

1st part done on the bench grinder/wire wheel, Results:

If you spend too much time in one area, press too hard you will start to wear off the chrome finish on the outer plastic

After final scrape with knife & 220 sandpaper, ready for Plasti Dip
The center oval IS Alum, and has raised Ford lettering
It did scrape/sand down some as I cleaned it up...only used 220 grit

And this is what happens when you use the heat gun too much....
Crinkles on the left.....
This was the worse out of all 4 & had to spend more time w/wire wheel & heat gun

After Plasti-Dip the Chrome coat started to peel up from the middle edge around the circle
So it all had to come off, stripped down & 1st coat going back on
The other 3 look good, sez to allow 4 hours to dry before using
The 4th one will go on the passenger side back I think
