what? Anything fits with a big enough hammer, torch, and a welder. There was never a diesel in any F150 until this talk of the next generation. Gonna be a custom job. Research the rock crawler forums, probably more luck doing research on a custom diesel build there.

NO diesel simply "fits in" (like a kit), any swap will require a ton of welding, modification, wiring, adaptors to whatever transmission you choose, the current one is computer controlled... good luck with that.

Here is my Nissan SD-33 diesel swap into my CJ-7, JP mag did a 4-page feature and put it on the front cover. A few years later I swapped in a Cummins 4B turbo engine. The Jeep is old enough to be pre-emissions so that's not a problem, wiring is simple, manual transmission, suspension lift gets engine between hood and axle (B-series engines are TALL).

Get a used 7.3 or 6.0 f250. Cheaper and will actually work like originally designed.

I'll pay for whatever engine this guy is supposedly going to put in his F150, IF he successfully does it.

You'll pay for it? As in fund it? Because it is possible with the right time, effort, abilities, and FUNDS...

Hub,

Not hijacking this thread, but...

What a waste of a SCOUT...

Just kidding, but I had two of them before the rust got to them. 1st 1966 sport top convertible, v-266 4x4 (very rare) 2nd 71 1/2 Scout II 196 4cyl 4x4. both were unstoppable (save the rust)

Great article and pics. do you have any pics of the scout?
