Default 2005 F150 radio issue WEIRD!

I purchased a 2005 F150 FTX--it is awesome but since it got cold, when I start the truck up the radio resets itself, clock is wrong and it is set on AM---it (radio)pauses like 5 seconds when it starts and then comes on. Nothing else is effected--nothing goes dim nada...I had the battery checked and it is fine. The radio is stock--6 CD changer....

This only happens when it is cold outside!! HELP it is so weird! I need a solution!

Thanks!

Where did you have the battery tested? I only ask since its about time for replacement anyway. They are 5 year batteries.

My mechanic checked it out...and it only does this when it is below 30 outside!

Batteries are rated at "cold cranking amps" which I believe it means the amount of amps they can put out at cold outside temps. A five year battery is on it's way out. My 2005 STX got it's FoMoCo battery replaced last year when my Ford dealer ran a special on them. Replaced it in their parking lot on a Saturday to get my "battery recycle fee" refunded!

Have the batter load tested. Not sure if your mechanic did this test or not. My Ford service department does it for free; every 3 to 4 months they run a oil and filter change special for $19.95. They check the battery, even though it's only 8 months old.
