Default 2005 F150 with B2900 DTC (ABS vin mismatch)

Hi There,

I am using FORScan 2.3.4 beta with extended license to write ABS As-built data to a 2005 Ford F150 (4.2L, 2wd) due to a DTC B2900 (ABS VIN mismatch). It goes well during the module configuration as seen in the log. But whenever I re-connect the truck via OBDlink SX cable to my Win10 running FORScan after the "successful service procedure", the DTC B2900 and ABS 760 block data displayed in FORScan remain unchanged. Is there anything I am missing? Anyone has been successful re-programming ABS module using Forscan? Thanks a lot for any input.

Ken

Hi Techrep:

Thanks for your input. Initially the ABS light was on with code C1300 "ABS pump motor circuit failure". I followed the pinpoint test and felt the ABS module was defective. So I bought a used one from ebay with exactly the same part #. Put it on and got the only new code B2900 (ABS vin mismatch). So I tried to re-flash the module's memory with as-built data in Forscan, but so far w/o success. I was wondering if anyone has accomplished the mission (re-programming) with Forscan for a 2005 F150 or any model year F150.

I had the same problem with a 2008 F150 SuperCrew purchased at Auction seem a wise guy put the wrong ABS module in the Truck. The repair shop tried to reprogram the ABS Module but that failed it would not take the new programming it did take the VIN but would not configure. So had to put in a new ABS module. Fun fun. Price 1200 with labor.
