2005 f150 4.6 4wd
I have a 2005 f150 crew 4.6 4x4. I don't know why but sometimes the the 4x4 will work and sometimes it doesn't I don't understand why can I get some help.

I don't know where to start the solenoid on the fire wall seems ok like I said sometimes it will engage and sometimes it won't. I don't know if it is the switch on the dash or what.

Has it ever been replaced? Does it have the little hood over it? If it hasn't been replaced, that's the 1st thing that should be handled. Swap it out and see if it works. If not, it most likely killed one of your IWE's. My buddy just had the same problem, he swapped the solenoid, then I found his passenger side IWE was crap, so I swapped it out and he's good to go now.
