now if I did pull a donor harness, would I have to splice it into the original harness or would It connect right up?

Im not gonna bet on that. The GEM for power options versus non-power windows/locks aren’t the same. If you want “factory”, you’ll be swapping in an entire XLT dash harness and GEM.

At that point, I’d go with an aftermarket setup and tap right into the fuse block however you have to for 12V power.

What kind of splice/connector are you using and where are the splices located? I just replaced the broken wires in my passenger side door using connectors that crimp on both ends. I also installed a jumper wire which allows the splices/connectors to be stuffed inside the jamb on one side and inside the door on the other, so that only the wire is inside the rubber boot. That way the connectors aren’t being “worked” by the door movement. The jumper wire had multiple strands of fine copper wire which allows it to be more flexible than the original.

No GEM modules on the 2004-2008 trucks. They used them in 97-03 and again in 09-14.
