Default 2005 F-150 4.6 Spark plugs

So I know it's usually best to replace them with Motorcraft plugs, but I was kinda curious about opinions on other plugs. I think I may put the NGK Iridium IX in the truck anyone else used those plugs?? Are they good or bad?

Oh i'm sure lol. When I started looking at trucks a few years ago. I explicitly told the dealerships I wanted a 4.6 or nothing at all. So far this truck has been amazing just rolled over 160k and the only really major maintenence was the fuel pump control module went out. Love the truck but the plugs are badly worn. I pulled one plug out and the electrode in the center was half worn on one side but fine on the other.

What modifications are you doing that would entertain your mind to run a plug other than what's stock?

So right now nothing in the future I plan on buying a remote mount turbo kit for it. I was just curious because I like the Iridiums and was wondering if there was any success with them on other trucks or if I should just stay with the OEM

OEM no brainer, look how long they lasted with no issues.

If you get a turbo you need get colder plugs anyway and have to change again...................

OEM all the way.

I'd say choose what ever you want for the 4.6. You'll replace them after 100k anyways. Platinum, double platinum, iridium, all will be fine for 100k in the 4.6

Default Its really crazy to go over 60k on plugs

Why try to stretch it so far . That 100k is just marketing stuff . Common sense is to get reasonable wear out of them . 60 k is great in my book but I go way back when we changed plugs every 10 -15k . Only air planes had platinum then . I do back to the 50's .
