OMG! It sounds like a giant sewing machine. No offense. I've heard people talk about this but have never actually heard it. From what i've read in the past its the valves.

Default That's the sound!

The video sounds exactly like my truck, you coast down the street as you slow into a corner, turn and press lightly on the gas pedal so the engine is at around 8 - 900 rpm and it clicks away like the lifters are loose!

What is this caused from?

Default Same noise on my truck

I have the same conditions,,, some say it sounds like a diesel at idle. My son had a 2005 F-150 4x4 with the same problems. It was finally disassembled at dealer and a Ford representative agreed it was a problem with the engine and they installed a new short block.
Now mine is doing the same thing at about the same mileage ( 50K) Now I am being told it is "normal"

Sounds like te 5.4 does have a history of this problem.

Default Engine noise

I was told by dealer that Ford will not look kindly at repairs if Ford Oil and Ford Filter has not been used for every oil change,,,, Anyone know or hear that ?????
