Sounds to me like you might have a vacuum leak somewhere. I would start by obtaining a vacuum pump and checking your Actuators at the hub. If those check out, then look at the check valves along the vacuum lines running from your IWE solenoid to your actuators. Also inspect your lines for any holes or tears.

how would a vacuum leak cause the hubs to disengage? You need the vacuum to disengage the hubs. If it was leaking the hub would be engaged, and turn 4wd on dumps the vacuum to engage the hubs.

true jamie thnx guys i found some torn lines and i replaced them but it still does it . is the transfer case actuater some how wired in with the hubs the hubs seem fine. the four wheel drive will engage and work for a sec , then loud bang and transfer case sdissengages i checked fluid levels and everything seems fine . now in reverse the 4x4 works perfect but not in forward , this is driving me bananas.

you meen cv axle or front drive shaft from transfer case, but if that was the case i would not work in reverse , and it does ,only does it going forward

thats what im thinking . but i hear it engage and everything but maybe its to weak to keep it in gear is there any type of adjustment that can be done or is it pre set, also can it be removed for inspection , without messing thing up.

from my understanding of the 4WD system. When the switch is turns to 4HI the solenoid is turned off, dumping vacuum engaging the hubs. The tcase motor is also turned on shifting the tcase to 4wd

ya I think everything is good in the hub department I was getting a grinding noise from r front hub but found vacume leak so that went away. now when i engage 4x4 wether it be 4 hi or 4 lo transfer case makes noise but when i go forward under acceleration transfer case pops out and no 4x4 but in reverse i get full 4x4. if i didnt have center consol i would check into manual transfer case and mybe straight axle conversion . I love the center consol and the ride. after having a superduty this ride is great
