Question 2004 Vs 2008 5.4l Trucks

Hello folks,
Though its the same engine, are there any difference/improvements other than the doubl tipped plugs. Cuz i have a 2004(211k kms), and a 2008(270k kms) when i drive the 2008 its just so smooth & peppy, whereas the 2004 with low km isnt as peppy - both have ticking noise on both sides of block(more on the 2004). Wonder if the HP is different on the last year version.

Double tipped plugs ? WTF are those ? Depending on the motor build date of your 08 10/9/07 and later have re-designed heads allowing for one piece spark plugs and they upgraded the VCT solenoids.

the later years are less prone to VCT and phaser issues. In late 2007, they also got rid of the 2 piece plug design for a single, standard plug. Other than that, not too much is changed.

It's still a 5.4 3V. The most reliable engine Ford has produced.
