Thanks! Sometimes I just tell people that it's a 2003 and it makes things a bit easier.... especially at parts counters or tire shops, etc...

Just for kicks, I asked the shop (Pep Boys) what they'd charge to put in a fuel pump......... $770. OMG, I'm thinking I can do that job myself when the weather gets nicer up here (New Hampshire). And fuel pumps cost what? $200?

Depends on what you want. Around $200ish for the complete assembly, maybe a little over that. If you're looking for solely the pump, $200 if you want a gold-plated one... less than $100 of you want just a standard replacement OEM-quality pump

Try a fuel filter first? When's the last time it was changed?

Good suggestion, cheap, worth a try. Though I doubt a filter would cause a sudden death of a motor like that. It'd be more of a chug and rough idle, not a complete cutout, more likely.

well, even if it is the pump you have to change the fuel filter out so they'll warranty it if anything goes wrong. Can't lose either way. Haha
