2004 F150 4X4 noise
My trk has 117000 miles. At 35 mph I get a roaring, vibrating, worn tire noise that is getting louder. Above or below 35 mph it's not as bad but it's louder than my after market exhaust and is very annoying. I had this issue on a 2005 Explorer that turn out to be the front bearings. I see several positions on the differentials, does this year model have rear differentials issues? It's almost like a unjoint because of the noise around my head.
Any thoughts?

Pop it into 4H while it’s making noise.. see if it goes away.

Ok, so I did what you instructed and the noise was still there.....but when the 4wheel drive engaged, a new noise arose during de-acceleration. It sounded like two pieces of metal rubbing together. There was no change in the initial noise.

With what you have eliminated here I would next check wheel bearings. Have you jacked the front end up and attempted to move the wheel with your hands at 6 and 12?
