2004 F150 2WD Raptor suspension conversion
After not finding all the answers to convert my 04 F150 to long travel. I decided to try and convert my truck over to OEM Raptor Control arms and shocks.
Progress below...
This project started 4 months ago. I already replaced the bed, complete front end and painted the truck.
I could not afford a kit at the time so I temporarily put wheel spacers on till I could locate the rest of the parts.
I sourced the upper, lowers and shocks off http://race-dezert.com
The 2004 F150 has 2 differences in suspension.
1. The front lower control arm needs a tab relocated.
2. The suspension is mounted lower on frame then older model trucks. ~2"
This is the only fabrication needed to the frame. I simply used a plasma cutter to cut it out. Then bolted it in and welded it with a 1/4" plate in between to fill the gap.
Everything bolted up to stock spindle just fine. If you look at my raptor bumper you can see how much lower it is aligned compared to the control arm. (Needs fixing) So I set the shocks at max height to make up the difference.
Today, I head over to http://bajakits.com to get some steering spacers and brake lines. (I plan on swapping the upper to the Baja Kits Uni-ball.)
PS. I am an software engineer by day, you can do this. I found most of the parts using Findy, (the app we developed) https://findy.com allowed me to swipe through eBay and Craigslist parts at the same time.
I hope this helps someone searching for more info...

Hopefully someone can help
Looking good and thanks for posting. I was hoping someone could help answer my question.
I have this camburg mid travel kit currently...
https://camburg.com/shop/suspension/performance-suspension/camburg-ford-f-150-2wd-04-performance-7-0-kit/
it is 1.5” wider than stock on each side (3” total). I’m wondering if by using the longer spindel and wider upper control arms on this camburg kit, can I swap my stock lower control arms for the raptor lower control arms? Also what modifications might I need to make to do so?
I can’t find the raptor upper control arm specs anywhere to compare to my camburgs.
