I've no interest in terrestrial radio. I've got about 20gb of purchased music, plus if I get a tablet with a SIM slot, I can add it on my AT&T shared plan and use up some of my 6gb data allowance on streaming internet radio.

I haven't given up on this, I'm still doing research, pulling together parts.

Since MOST tablets, especially good ones, don't have buttons on the front, it'll be difficult to power it up.. so I am thinking, hard-wire a car charger into switched 12v, because every tablet I've seen, and pretty much every device, powers it's screen on when the charger is connected. As well, a tablet's battery generally lasts for days at a time.

Volume can be controlled by on-screen controls, and common-use car apps will keep the screen on during use (Google Nav, PowerAMP, etc).

Something like to connect the audio to a crossover that gives me 3 sets of outputs.

The only thing is, I can't seem to find any crossover that has only one set of RCA inputs.
