2004 5.4 Liter: P2106 Engine Fail Safe Mode
I need some serious help. I have a 2004 F-150 with 82K miles. It is the Lariat with a 5.4 liter Triton engine. When I start driving the ABS light comes on within 3-5 minutes if not immediately. Within 5 to 10 minutes the Engine fail safe code comes on. I connected the code reader and it gives me a P2106 Throttle Actuator Control System code. I have replaced within the past week the MAS and the entire throttle body assembly which included the actuator control system and the TPS. I am still getting the code regardless if the engine is cold or warmed up. It doesn't matter if I drive it easy or hard. What should I do next.
Thank you for any suggestions you have.

Had this exact same problem, tried cleaning MAF sensor, nothing...ended up selling the truck for a much higher quality vehicle haha. It's a ford, they're made to break.
In all seriousness I would clean as much of the carbon buildup around the intake as you can, brake cleaner should do the trick, Easy 1-2hr DIY, worst case it doesn't work and you can bring it in to the stealership.

Probably a broke wire going to the actuater. And unless you have a damn good wiring diagram its not a DIY project. If you can get your hands on a value chart for how many volts it should have a at so many rpms then its gonna be a pain in the ***.
Resolution: I finally had to break down and take it to the dealer.
Issue: ABS light
Resolution: Replaced speed sensor and pinion seal on real wheel.
Issue: Engine Fail Safe Mode
Resolution: Flash computer to work with new throttle body assembly (TPS & ATCS)
I drop it home as I normally would On average it would have gotten 16mpg. I was getting almost 20mpg driving at speeds between 45mph and 55mph. If this has improved my MPG it may very well be worth the money spent since I plan on keeping the truck for a long time.
Thanks to all that posted and offered help / suggestions.
