Default 2004 2wd F150 stabilizer bar link.

Hello all,
Do any of you veteran F150 owners know why an 04 2wd Crew cab would have the 4wd stabilizer bar link instead of the regular 2wd one installed. The SBL is the one with the 90 degree end on one side. The truck was purchased used and it has an Auto Spring leveling kit installed. Would installing the leveling kit require the changing of the SBL. Appreciate any assistance. Good day to all!

Maybe I don't understand. The only difference between a 2wd and a 4wd stabilizer bar link is the length of the intermediate shaft and both are straight... Where is the 90 degree?

And as far as i know, no leveling kit requires you change the SBL.

Thanks for the reply 650NutKase, Maybe I'm explaining it wrong. But the 04 has the SBL pictured below. My 2wd calls for the shorter version of it, but when I went to replace it I noticed that it has the 4wd version which is the longer one. I don't know if it came like this stock or if they swapped them when the previous owner installed the leveling kit. But based on your answer they would not have had too. Im in the process of replacing them and wanted to know if I should just order the 4wd ones or go to the one the VIN says it should have. Appreciate the help.

Interesting...I have never seen that style of SBL. My 2wd has the standard straight SBLs...Looks like 2004 and 2005 were the years that had that SBL...The notes say thru 11/29/04

Yeah, the early Gen 11's used the angled ones. Leveling kit doesn't affect stab bar

Thank you both for the Info. So based on the fact that the leveling kit doesn't affect Stab bar, should I replace the links with the 2wd ones that VIN says it should have or just order the same 4wd ones it currently has. Will the links affect the handling and wear and tear on the other components. Thanks
