Default #2 towing setting on Edge Evolution

I am new to Edge programmer. I bought my truck about a few months ago and it came with CAI and Edge Evolutions, so I am trying to learn about all this.

I see some run #2 towing at all times.

Benefits to this are????
Anything special I have to do while using the #2 towing all the time? Certain octane fuel??

Thanks

Most run level 2 as you can run it with 87 oct fuel, it does change fuel trims (level 1 doesn't), and transmission strategies. It is also VERY advisable to run level 2 with a CAI in the 04-05 5.4L until custom tunes can be obtained. Level 2 runs a little richer than the stock tune so it helps to negate the negative effect of MAF placement in some CAI/Hex code combos.

Level 2 TOW.... More power.... I've seen an increase in torque.... Added a cai... Better throttle response....

level 2 all the times here too.

I made my best fuel economy with this setting and the shift point a very good.
some may find it's downshifting too fast when accelerating but I don't care

Been running on #2 tow setting and love it. Better get up and go for sure. Ran a full tank of gas on #2 and got 13.1 mpg. Not bad. I don't drive that much anyway.

Also been using mid grade 89 octane.

Also did the throttle cable reset trick and that seemed to work also.

Here is an explanation from the Edge manual on each setting.

Just thinking out loud, But if your truck is running on anything but stock, won't that shorten the engine/trans life? hmm

ummm. no.. If you change things right it wont hurt anything and could make things last longer. just because it is a change from stock doesnt mean its bad. sometimes stock isnt good. the factory does things, such as intakes, that arent neccesarily good for the truck. they do it to pass emissions and shutup the tree huggers.
