Default 100k Tune up.

Hey, I'm at about 90k miles and want to do a tune up. Has anyone done this themselves? Also, I was going to replace the spark plugs too. I know to be careful. What spark plug should I use? and how does the Royal Purple gear oil work for the diffs? is it worth it?

Yes - Many have done their own tuneups
Yes - Royal Purple is great stuff
Spark plugs - Try the search (search on "spark plugs" within this forum) for recommendations.

OK, I made a list. Here it goes:
1. Replace spark plugs
2. Fuel filter change
3. Radiator flush
4. New brakes and complete bleed of fluid
5. Trans service and fluid replace.
6. o2 sensor replace or cleaning- not sure yet.
7. Diff and t-case fluid change, Royal Purple I think
8. New belt.

Anything else or any tips someone can give me would help. Thanks!

I am about the same milage as you, this week I am making the change over to synthetic oil. I was told this would be a good move with my truck and it's 90+k miles not sure if this helps your list or not.

I like to use Motorcraft synthetic blend. I think its a good oil and its cheap.

Very true. A good choice from this forum. Change every 3 to 4K with the semi-synthetic. If you go the full synthetic, 6 to 7K is a good interval for "normal" driving, with mild towing.

Couple other quick things to look at and see how they are is air filter and pvc valve as well. Both super easy / quick changes.

Thanks, I never thought about the pcv valve. I didn't even know that new cars even had them!
