Default 08 xl tires .firestone or michelin ?

Firestone has a good sale right now on firestone destination tires , i always used michelin tires they seemed to just make a vehicle ride so smooth. Am i going to regret putting on the firestones the cost difference is huge between the two tire size is p235/70r17. Would you put on a bigger tire or leave it to the size recommended on the label. It sure looks like there is alot of room in wheel well for a bigger tire.

IVe had 3 sets of Firestone destination AT on my truck. Great tire, especially for a 2wd. Seems to have a much more attractive price than the Michelin.

I'd go with a 245/70/17 if I were you. It's only .5" larger. It's a common size and it'll look a little better too.

Firestone Destination <blank> ? AT, LE, LE2?
Michelin <blank>? Too many specific types to list.

In other words, need more than just the tire brand to be of any help.

And don't we have a tire thread sticky?

I love michelin's they are so nice and wear well and grip so well.

But my truck came with almost a new set of Firestone Destination's, and they've been serving me well. They are almost done but still grip.

they must make those michelin's out of puppy tears , u can not get that smooth with any other tire and never ever had a problem with them. but my firestone destinations are done . can get 4 destinations for $580 the michelins are a $500 on top of that .

I have had two sets of Firestone Destination LE2 on my 06 XLT 2WD. Current set has 60,000 miles and can go another 10,000. Rides great, good wet traction, no snow here so don't know about snow traction. One of the better rated tires in the category on tire rack. I buy when they have a buy 3 get 1 free sale. Can't beat the price. Would recommend.

Don't some installers give you a "trial" period where you can try the tires and if you don't like them, return them?
