ok questions about the nav radio , so when i plug it in i still have to buy a map disc ,and the radio has an aux jack in the back my truck has no aux jack ,cant i just run the aux wire from the radio and hang it down like by the cupholders to plug my phone in , it should run off just the radio right? . when i put in the nav radio the ford logo should come up and all functions work or do i need the dealer to match the radio to my vin if im buying the radio used out of a different truck.

Yes I'm about 99% sure that you have to have a disc for the maps. Looks like there are many and I don't know which one you'll need or if they have one that covers the whole country. The unit may already have the maps disc with it? http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from...+disc&_sacat=0
Yes, you can just run a cable from the back of the HU to somewhere that you choose to plug into. Heres one you can drill a hole somewhere on the dash and mount it. Just make sure you have the correct ends needed ie male/female, or female/female.
Amazon Amazon
Again I'm not 100% sure but I don't think these radios need to be matched. I believe they are plug and play. As a safety precaution get the VIN off the truck it came out of for security reasons. Some newer ones need to be unlocked to prevent theft but I don't think the 04-08 ones did.

Default My radio and the nav radio switch out

24 pin and the antenna plug only on mine. stock am/fm radio
My harness
Back of mine
Nav radio 24 pin , im guessing the slot next to it is for the plug in if u have the premier sound subwoofer and amp?
Pink plug is for gps, one below it maybe the aux?
This nav came out of 08 f150 ...my questions can i just plug in my 24 pin and gps and this will work, is it locked when u try to plug in to a different vehicle? Any experience with this anybody?

The plugs on that back of the Nav radio are as follows. 24 pin is for general use (speakers, power, memory, ect) This will be exactly the same functions as on your current radio. 16 pin is for AUX, DVD connections. Your truck will not have this. I was mistaken in an earlier post about the aux I was under the impression that the nav radio had a 3.5mm jack on the back of it. In order to us the aux port you will need to buy 2 more harnesses and wire them in. It wouldn't be difficult just added money. The 8 pin connector is for a sub woofer which again your truck doesn't have. The pink plug is for the GPS antenna. Did it come with the antenna? The white plug below it is for the am/fm antenna. For your current setup you can just plug in the 24 pin, the gps antenna, and the am/fm antenna and use it just fine. You will not have the AUX function. Let me know what other questions you have.

You should not need a radio antenna adapter. Looks to me like both your radio and the nav radio have the same radio antenna plug. If you have your radio out just unplug the radio antenna and look to make sure but I'm 99% sure they are the same. For the Aux as I stated earlier I was confused and thought the radio had an AUX port on the back so I don't know how to make that happen. Yes you will need the GPS antenna I cant tell you for sure which gps antenna will work. I cant guarantee that the radio is not locked. I don't think these radios are locked to a vehicle. I could be wrong. You are at your own risk when I comes to that. Sorry I cant help 100% on that I know that's a big one.

The are many people who buy, and sell the non nav units on here. You would think if they work then the nav unit should too. $100 is a GREAT BETTER THAN GREAT PRICE! They go for $500+ on eBay.

Aftermarket does usually offer more features.
