08 F150 4x4 ball joints
I have an 08 F150 4x4 scab with billstein 5100's on all corners with the front set to 2" lift. The truck has 54k on it and ALL ball joints and tie rod ends need replaced. I previously, 6 months ago, replaced the UCA with auto zone parts. Those obviously are garbage. Using Moog parts this time. Has anyone else had these parts fail in this short amount of time?

So it looks like everyone is getting considerably more miles out of the stock joints than I did! 54k just seems way too few miles to need the entire setup changed out! I sincerely hope the Moog parts hold up better. I am running 295-70-18 Nitto Trail Grapplers also for the last 5k. Hope that didn't cause this...

I'm at around 86,864 miles and my ball joints are fine.. Started running a 2.5" level in 2010 at around 58,000 miles with heavy 325/50/22 tires.. At about 65,000 i went to a full lift.. Same tires.. No issues.. Guess i'm pretty lucky... Maybe if i was still living in the country and driving dirt roads i would be showing some wear

I had the spacer 2 1/2" lift on it for a few years and swapped out for the billsteins. At that time, I noticed the upper joints were shot so I replaced them. I fully contribute the failure to the spacer lift due to the extreme angle it placed on the UCA. That is not the case with the billsteins. Unfortunately, I used junk parts to replace them from auto zone. Lesson learned. I do 98% highway driving but I don't baby it either. Probably my fault...

Just replaced my upper control arms, lower ball joint, tie rod ends and upgraded to bilsteins 5100 at 2" setting today. Used Moog replacements with grease fittings, and made in a America, :thumbs up:
Had auto spring 2.5 on it, with stock struts. Has 81k on it, and the uppers were shot.

Atlas, Are you off roading in your truck? That would certainly shorten the life of those components. I've got 106K miles on my truck and it's still running on all original suspension parts, but my truck has a pretty easy life in that regard. An occasional pot hole is as bad as it gets. lol.
