Default 07 missfire only bank 1

Hey all trying to track down issues on a neighbors truck. 07 5.4 3v speedo says 450k so I doubt it's the original engine.. replaced coils and plugs due to it running like crap with missfire.. still has p0305, 7, and 8, and random misfire.. swapped plugs and coils around and same issue.. pulled cam sensor on drivers side and there was crud on the end of it so we cleaned it off.. runs better but still wont rev over 4500 and you can hear what sounds like spark knock and a popping noise..like coughing back through intake... what would be a sign of 1 can phaser being locked out? I do not hear a cam tick in the engine..it's rather quiet.. checked resistance of the injectors and they are all close to the same.. even swapped out the fuel pump driver over the spare tire with no change.. any ideas of what to look at next or ideas would be great. thanks.

Just checking the injectors with a meter isn't telling you much. A clogged injector will ohm out perfectly, but still won't pass any fuel. It's not that hard to swap injectors.

TechRep is correct, if it's had the misfire for a while, the cats may be done.

Default update..

Found out from owner.. he has had this truck since new and NEVER has had the engine opened up for chains or CVT's ect.. just plugs and coils..450K on the clock and counting..it's a company truck used for his road paving biz.
So... with a clog like some are talking about.. would that cause the truck to sort of cough and pop from what sounds like inside the intake.. it sounds a lot like a engine out of time.. but it starts up way to easy...just a tap of the key and it fires right off.. even after sitting for 30 min running. we even tried a little sea foam and got it to almost 5k on a rev... some times it will rev faster than others. you can feel the exhaust from about 3 ft from the pipe..it seems like its flowing fine.. still has the stock exhaust on it.
guess I will see about putting another set of injectors I have in another engine on the drivers bank and try again.

If the VVT solenoid goes bad what does it cause? Symptoms? Like I said there is no ticking or rattle in the chains or phasers that I can hear... unless it's locked...
