If you are looking at 435HP and 500TQ, you are going to have to run about 530 HP and575TQ at the flywheel. I have a 4x4 with a supercharger and the reverse dyno pull showed I loose almost a 100 of each between the flywheel and the rear tire. Those results were with 3.73 rearend and factory tires. I loose even more with the 20" rims and heavy cooper tires that I'm running.

Just a friendly FYI. Something to think about when you start adding up numbers on gains you expect to see.

Although, if you re-gear, you should gain some of that back.

See that's the kind of input I need. I didn't know what the losses were at the flywheel. That helps me greatly, thanks!

The re-gearing will definitely help me gain some back, but I'll probably have to start hoping for +/- 375/450 RWHP/TQ

Looking at it money wise and what your goals are. Personally, I would get the SC now. Get a e-fan setup and a nice exhaust and re-gear. That would put you real close to where you want to be.

You could actually forget about the exhaust for now and the re-gear. Just the e-fan and SC would put you around 350 HP/ 375TQ at the wheels. Save some money and do the exhaust and re-gear and a good tune should put you 380/400 final product. Maybe a bit higher!!

The SC will provide your biggest gain for the money.

Also, a CAI will come with the SC kit. Don't spend money for something that will come later with the SC.

PS. you can get close to the kind of numbers you want without cracking the motor.

Hold on killer, I dont think you will see that before the SC is added. The truck is making 300 or so at the flywheel stock but man your only making 220 HP if your lucky at the rear wheels. The true duels may add 10-15, CAI may add 15, Cams and Pistons may add somwhere around 40-50 and a programmer may get another 30. That gets you to around 330 or so maybe 350 if your lucky at the real wheels. Then add the SC and you will get up to 435. Best man to talk to about this stuff is BlownFord. He has all this stuff and can better walk you though it

With your goals you would be better off selling your truck and getting a diesel. You are going to have a ton of money in the truck and it will be a stretch to hit your goals normally aspirated.

I agree on the diesel part. Or just drop out the 5.4 and put in a 460 Ford injected on alcohol

Come to think of it.. that would make one cool rat rod truck.. lifted, primer flat black, with that motor and injectors coming out of the hood. NOW that, would be cool!

Desired N/A HP/TQ numbers have been revised.

Exhaust (minus the headers) has all ready been purchased and is waiting on me to weld it up.

I want to do the supercharger last. This is a 'project' truck I bought for the purpose of getting into and building up. I know a SC will just drop in and get me where I want to be, but where is the fun in that?

I'm a single Airman living on base with no expenses and nothing to do on my free time. Working on cars is what I love to do and what passes the time. But there is a limit to my knowledge and abilities. That's why I want to get in there and push the N/A specs up as much I can without getting into machining/engine swaps. Then a SC for fun The important part is getting the block/tranny/rear end able to handle the added power reliably for a good long life.
