Default 07 2wd front rotor bearings

hey guys, went to midas after no longer being able to tolerate the shaking when i brake. they said my rotors were way out of spec and warped bad....but i knew that. quoted me $180 per rotor , $55 for pads and $100 labor. i laughed and walked out.

i have one question before i tackle this job myself. are the bearings in the rotor pressed in or can i pull them out by hand? if i can pull out by hand itll make buying new rotors and installing easy. i looked in a haynes manual but it didnt say.

They have to be pressed in. You can take them to any brake shop and they can perform this for you. If you know any one with a press, you can do it yourself w/ a large socket, just go slow. DONT GREASE! We put the bearing in the freezer for a bit, and let the rotor sit in the sun, then pressed (heat expands, cold shrinks). There is a place online you can get the bearings for $80 for 2. http://www.jbr17llc.com/set930timken.html Good luck!
