06 struts and shock replacement
I have at least 100,000 miles on my shocks and struts (possibly the originals at 238,000) and want to replace them.
What should I replace them with?
I have a 06 crew cab 2 wheel drive w/ a 4.6 liter and tow package

If you want to keep it similar to oem height and ride, Monroe quickstucks up front and Monroe reflex shocks in the back will do the job. Make sure you get the correct part number for 2wd.
If youre going to do this, you might as well do ball joints, tie rods, etc if they need it since you’ll need an alignment anyway.

with 239,000 miles on it, i am not going to do anything fancy, especially since it is a rwd and within a year, my teenage son will be driving it. I am just looking to make this safe and hopefully last until 300,000.
As for replacing control arms, struts, shocks, ball joints, etc... what is the best way? I was looking at a kit from 1A auto, but there was a lot of bad reviews, so is there a place on line that does well or just go down to the Napa, Autozone, O'Reilly's to get the parts?

Use rockauto to fill out your truck info and it'll give you results with what will fit and what is popular. I used Moog parts on my front end rebuild and Monroe Quick Struts. I couldn't be happier with them

I also used all Moog problem solver parts and Monroe quickstruts. I did this two years ago and they still ride great. DO NOT get the Moog problem solver parts if you don’t plan to lube the ball joints, tie rods, etc with a grease gun every oil change. Get sealed units if you don’t want to lube.
Dont buy any of the kits, they are junk.
order from rockauto or similar. The parts will be agood amount cheaper than your local part store.
The local stores will loan out a ball joint press though. You will need that.
