Default 05 F-150 5.4L won't start when it's cold outside!

It will crank and crank but won't start? I went through a lot of things and found out if I heat up the PCM with hair dryer for a little bit it will start? After it starts like that it will start all day but by the next morning I have to warm it up again.. any ideas how to fix this?

Moved to 2004-2008. That is quite odd and I probably would have never recommended that for a troubleshooting step! Sounds like you may need to open the PCM up (if you are electronically confident at all, all you really need is a clear working area) to see what has gone wrong in there, if it's at all visible.

Thanks for replying so fast! I am pretty comfortable with electronics but I don't know anything about the inside of a PCM so I'm not sure what to really look for?

Me neither as far as the PCB layout, but I know you certainly will not be the person to open one up here. I've seen pics of burnt components on here, usually capacitors, put up by other users. I suppose it couldn't hurt to try

I will open it up the next time the temperature drops below 20° outside and won't start.

Still haven't figured this out...any thoughts? Throws codes about the Throttle actuator, I took the throttle body off and cleaned it up but it didn't help. Always starts when pcm is warmed up? The pcm doesn't have any moisture or corrosion anywhere inside of it?

Well obviously it's the PCM... somehow... I still think there's got to be a dead / dying component or a bad solder joint in there somewhere

This. Heat creates expansion, thus making whatever bad solder joint make contact. If there is no moisture or corrosion present, then likely a failing PCM circuit board.
