Default 04 lariat dies while coasting

I have an 2004 lariat. Recently the truck will occasionally die while at a coast to a stop light, corner, ect. It doesn't putt around or nothing just straight no power, no motor, nothing. After it dies the read out says low oil pressure. I've cheked and checked the oil an the level is fine. There is no noise when driving no loss of power. I'm clueless to what could be there problem. Also, there is no reving when at idel and the check engine light has never came on.

could it be a bad oil pump?
the truck may be seeing a drop in oil pressure and shut the truck off to protect the engine

could a dirty air filter being causing this? the tuck is just uner enough power to need a little more air but not getting it? I have noticed my gas mileage declinning and was wondering if it was caused by the filter. I plan on putting a new one in tonight.

There was a recall for this problem I think. I have a friend with a 2004-5 and his did this when he first bought it, I'll find out more info in the morning.

---Update 01/08/09
Just talked to my buddy with an 04 FX4, his would stall at lights and stop signs. He said when he took it in they told him there was a recall that basically was just a computer upgrade to control idle speed regulation.

I put a new K&N filter in last nite. So far no problems. If the issue persists, I'll look into the computer issue. Thanks!

I don't see how your air filter could cause low oil pressure or stalling (unless it was plugged solid). The question is is it shutting down because of low oil pressure or is the warning just the result of it stalling. It could be a bad oil pressure sender or as the other fellow said a computer problem.
