thanks yall. the phasers were the issue. put another set of phasers on and the truck runs like a charm. yes they were dorman phasers i was tempted to go back with ford phasers but i figure at this point i have torn the engine down in about two hours so ti can do the job fairly quickly, so i went with the dormans under warranty. If these go out im gonna get some from ford. Guess i learned the hard way that aftermarket phasers arent oem quality, but my oil pump was weak also so maybe that was the cause of the premature failure. i dont really care after all the research and hours ive put in this im just happy its working right. So like i said I learned the hard way BEWARE of aftermarket phasers. thanks for the help and input guys

I also pulled P0340 Cam placement sensor on bank 1.
Replaced but truck still makes a diesel sound when coming to a stop. What's to bog down.
Turns on, runs, accelerates just fine.
Not sure what the deal is.

chances are with that diesel sound, you have a issue in the timing cover. the guides are famous for breaking and so are the tensioners for going out. most likely you need to pull the timing cover to see whats going on. if you get the cover off and dont see any physical damage turn the engine by hand from the crank and see if the phasers are making noise. if you find the problem is in the timing its best to replace everything in there. i use aftermarket quality chain kit not from the zone or anywhere like that, but i learned the hard way its best to stick oem on the phasers and solenoids.
