Hi All,

Swapping out my cracked radiator this weekend on my 04 5.4 with auto trans and have never dealt with transmission cooler lines before.

When I get the new unit in does the trans tank need to be primed at all? Do I just plug the lines back in, start the truck, let it come to operating temp and top off the fluid through the dipstick port?

Exactly. No special procedures, just a normal swap.

 

I hope no one minds me bumping this. I am having to replace my radiator also. Is the original the 1" thick? I've seen 3 different sizes listed and would hate to get the wrong one.
