That partially the plan. I'm gonna pull the valve bodies off and make sure there good, the chains and all only have 3400 miles on them, but I am going to get motorcraft tensioners that way I know there new and good.

Even replacing everything with brand new OEM Ford parts doesn't fix anything, you're just putting in parts that are at the high side of the spec. The issue is since everything else is at the low side, these components are taxed harder than normal, causing them to fail sooner with each subsequent replacement.

This is why we came out with our cam phaser noise repair kit. Its the only way to permanently fix this issue so it's impossible to fail the VCT system.

Just had my engine rebuilt and added your lock-out system, what weight oil should/can I run now?

^^^ Sage advice. A lot of folks overlook this step.

We recommend 5w30, but double check with your engine builder.

As for those recommending replacing the entire VCT system, it will provide a temporary fix. But I do stress temporary. We have had people call and say it lasted anywhere from a year to a few hours, but it never lasts terribly long. Why spend thousands on a temporary fix, when you can spend $700 and never worry about it again?
