Saw my old truck this morning. Got sent to another station to be in charge of a ladder company and the guy i was relieving is the one who bought it. He put the wheels and tires on it and I sold him the grille and side steps off the one I bought.

I didnt necessarily WANT black. I got divorced and had 2 vehicles in my nameamd she couldnt get hers in her own. So I sold the silver which was an xlt cause I owed very little on it compared to value and traded in the suv which I was a bit upside down in. I went from a 04 xlt to a 08 Lariat and back to 1 payment. I hated to do it but had to be done. I spent all that time PTMing the mirror caps, door handles, and badges getting it just right and ready for rims then off she goes to someone else. If you go back to the first post in my build thread you can see what it looked like when I sold it. Oh well I am happy with what i got 4 years newer, lariat v. xlt, less miles and a 4x4 vs 2wd.

Well I went exploring earlier and found a lake with a wide open area. Figured i'd take a few pics.

Any recommendations on what my next mod should be?

Thinking either side steps, new door speakers, or tow mirrors. Also considering going out of my budget for a peragon bed cover..

looking at the terrain, Id get some lights slash light bar, and sure side steps would be nice as well. Do you tow? What do you need crazy mirrors for? The only reason I like mine is bc 1. they came with the vehicle, and 2. I dont have to look over my shoulder to see my blind spot (but I do anyway) force of habit. I like your truck without the huge mirror thing, but the functionality is awesome.

They haven't stuck you at JBLM yet have they? It's all woods/trails...

Im thinking of an nFab light bar with some hella 700w lights but I think it might look goofy on my truck. I also have HIDs with blow up the world basically. In the summer I have a small trailer I haul 2 dirt bikes with (I have a gsxr street bike now but that I can throw in the bed) and once I year I tow my 25' boat between Cali and Lake Havasu, NV. So i'd mainly use them for the no blind spot idea of it.

ya was there for a bit doing...stuff in 04. Ya, I know about the trails and bush where your stationed at. Have you come up with a composite image how you want your truck to look like with the lights and bar? I can show you what I came up with mine to determine my decision so I didnt make some stupid mistake. I mean my truck isnt perfect, but as military, thats what we do, research to come as close as we can to the best solution

Her'es some pics I got from other members with similar trucks but light/bull bars :

I was also thinking of a 20" LED bar in the lower grille.

ya I do like the black truck that looks like its covered in baby oil
well, not bad, but think about functionality. I like the light bar, with 700w Lights (hella)...is that what the lower picture depicts? Are those your Hella lights? Now if you want a 20" LED light bar, why would you want it so low? Higher up in the grill would be good if you could from a functionality POV.
