Default 0 w 20 COLD STARTING OIL?

hey im wondering if i dont have access to power to plug in block heater here in canadian cold weather [-15 -25 celcius]

can i run 0 w 20 oil to make it easier to start without being plugged in?

does it have to be synthetic or is synthetic blend or just regular 0 w 20 goin to work about the same?

so far ive only found single litre bottles for 10.99 or 56 bucks for royal purple 4 or 5 litre jug

0/20 will help a lot. I don't know of any brands in that grade that are not full synthetics tho.
Any name brand syn from walmart will perform pretty dang good for ya.
Give it a shot!

Walmart has Mobil 1 full synthetic 0-20. $24.99 for 5 quart container.
I switched to this last oil change. Engine is still smooth and quiet. No change that I can tell. MPG was up by about .6 for next 2 tanks of gas. Not really enough time to say this is real.

Have about 1500 miles on this also no issues. Haven't logged the mileage close enough to say any difference. I did look at the data sheet on Mobil website this oil is about 11% more "thin" cold and 2% at temp relative to Mobil 5W-20. Pour point was lower but can't remember the specifics

Curtk9, do not assume that just because an oil has a colder winter rating of 0 that it will be better for cold arctic startup. What you need to do is go to any oil companies website that you are considering and look at the CCS rating. CCS means it has been tested with a Cold Crank Simulator. The lower the number the better the startup characteristics of the oil to actual pumpability. Synthetic or a blend doesn't matter as both will be formulated with additives for cold flow properties.
