Are you happy with your truck?

got a 2010, had the slip bump and trans shifted like crap. so i up to a 2012 and with 10 k on the clock it puts a big @$$ grin on my face every time i set in it! i love my truck as much as my .................................................. ........well i would say the wife but hell i can't lie i never loved my wife that much. so ill say as much as my dog!
Then I started to get knocking/popping at all stops and starts. Found out if was a bad body mount, but combined with towing my travel trailer, the bad mount put stress on the lower control arms and cracked them 'supposedly'. No real answer to the chassis problems. I also had a blown shock the first 6 months of owners. The transmission got computer updates the first month until it was gone. Around the 2nd year a transmission valve went bad. Then in October/November of 2012, the chassis problems along with still having transmission issues.
I absolutely hate Chevy and would never buy that Junk. Everyone I know with Chevy/GM vehicles has either had drivetrain problems, computer problems, electrical problems, or combination of all of them. After owning my first and last new Chevy, I found them very unreliable and Chevy wouldn't back their products. The product was made in Mexico with none Union labor and was a piece of drap because of that along with terrible engineering. I honestly was hoping GM would had folded but unfortunately they're here to stay and pollute the auto world.
While I like Dodge, the Ram is a wussy truck. It has less payload than my 2008 V8 Sport Trac midsize truck, uses coil springs that don't help hauling, had a very small interior front seat cab area, and seem more a grocery getter utility vehicle than a truck.
I had the US made, assembled, and engineered Nissan trucks and they just fall apart with Nissan refusing to back them as well.
While I had troubles, Ford was still my best and only choice. I traded my 2010 5.4L F150 with 34,000 miles on a 2012 5.0L F150 in Nov. 2012 (Truck built in Sept. 2012). Bought my 2010 F150 in Jan. 2011. Got to love those $6,500 year end rebates! Got $6,500 in rebates on both the 2010 and the 2012!
I really love the 5.0L 2012 truck because it just adds to what I really liked about the 2010. It adds a much better transmission that shifts well. It adds a much more powerful engine/axle combination in the XLT with a 3.73 axle. The 5.4L only came with a 3.55 axle option. The electric power steering is effortless and luxury feeling. I love the grey color interior over the beige 'stone' color I had in the 2010. I really love the updates to the transmission functionality along with better designs in the cabin on little things.
Plus I have a stiffer suspension compared to the 2010, don't know if you found the same or not. While the ride does suffer on rougher roads it will help with towing and hauling doing what a truck was designed to do. Have no idea, but this may be the reason for the updated 2012 7350 lb GVWR compared to the 2010 GVWR of 7200 lbs.
All in all, I really love this truck.

10 4.6 3v 4x4 XLT. Got 60k on her and not even a hiccup. Been off roading, put truck through a lot and she still runs great. I considered trading her in, but I see no point yet. By far the best vehicle I've ever owned

Mine died at around 1k miles but two weeks later and two new 'puters and it runs fine. I was gonna trade it off since it didn't come with a gas cap but then I realized that when I bought the truck I was aware of that feature and knew if it bothered me I could drive to AutoZone and for $10 buy one. Of course that would prevent me from bitchin' about a pointless issue on an internet forum.
2011 SCREW 5.0l Fx2 with 3.73's. Fastest truck for miles around. Man I like living out in the country.

Iv'e had my 2011 5.0 scab for a year. It has a little over 11,000 miles on it now and I haven't had any problems whatsoever. It is the nicest, most comfortable, most powerful vehicle I have ever owned. I look forward to driving it every day.
My puppy dog loves riding in it too. She jumps around from seat to seat looking out the windows whenever we go for a ride.

After owning a chevy 4x4 with just over 100,000 miles on it, the engine had a real bad problem with piston slap. I decided to get a 2012 2wd f150 with a 3.7 and really liked the truck. However after having it for less than a year I missed not having a 4x4. I recently traded my truck in for a 2013 f150 STX 4x4 regular cab with 3.7. I have not had any troubles with either trucks. My only suggestion is to make sure you get what you want the first time. jp68
