The overwhelming responses to your initial posts were to make him remedy the problem because it's a) his responsibility and b) illegal to sell a vehicle with non-functioning emissions equipment.

While you may be able and willing to deal with him on "A", other consumers may not. Think of the inexperienced young buyer that walks in there, buys a vehicle, CEL comes on, calls them, and they say "no warranty".

A reputable dealer's response should have been "bring it back in immediately and we will resolve the problem". Some suggested they knew of the issue when they got the CEL because they would have seen the codes, of course we don't know that.

Happen to drive a Fusion Hybrid in addition to my F-150, so that might make me more eco-conscious than others, but regardless I wouldn't bypass emissions equipment. If I did, I would have to change my username to VWAudi...

As far as how I voted today, that's my business. I won't get into a political discussion here, has no bearing on whether a car dealer should follow the law or not.

Long done. No matter which candidate you support, I think everyone can agree that the amount of energy, money, and media attention that has been devoted to this election is absurd. Can't wait for it to end.

What do you typically do with the rear o2s throwing a code after you delete the cats?

We recommend a custom tune to get the most out of the y-pie. We have also heard of guys using spark plug defoulers to trick the pcm, but we have not tested that ourselves.

When you sell or trade these in, lets see what joke it is when you lie or cover it up, then they go after you. If you trade it in, you sign a paper that states all federally mandated equipment is still intact; they (the dealership) can make you pay to reinstall before they can legally sell the vehicle.
If you sell it outright, the purchaser can sue you, as again, its illegal to remove this equipment and then sell the vehicle.

Your truck, I don't care, but just a warning to other considering to do it. Keep the parts, as you will want to reinstall when you trade or sell the vehicle.

Not only that, but it's not just your statement to the EPA. You're removing a device that converts a large amount of poisonous gas into carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and water.

I'm far more comfortable knowing vehicles should have them since I'm raising a little girl that will have to, you know, breathe, as she grows up.
