Default X-plan Question

All, I ordereda truck at the end of June and agreed on a price with the dealer. However, come to find out I qualify for X-plan pricing, but was never offered it. Can I now ask for the additional discount or is the dealer able to just keep the deal at the previously agreed price?

I would double check - I qualified also when I bought my truck, but I was able to negotiate a better price without using the X-plan.

Do you actually know what the X-PLAN pricing was?

Hard to say there was an "additional discount" if not.

Unless your dealer took a loss on your truck it's unlikely that you actually paid less than X plan pricing. It's designed by Ford to cover the transaction cost of the vehicle and about $100 to the dealer for the effort. I lived in Detroit for several years, used an X plan for my truck as advised by my good friend who is in upper level management at Ford Finance.

My last two vehicles were lower than X-Plan but I only qualified for it on the most recent purchase. You may be doing "as good" without the plan than with it but if you're able to cancel your the purchase then you can definately re-negotiate the price. Give you probably signed a purchase agreement to they would build the truck then you might be stuck.

You probibly have a better deal than X-plan all ready. I really like to support local small town business so the only way to get a good price at the local small town dealer is to use Xplan. Xplan on the STX I'm looking at is 27,700 after 5250 in rebates. 60 miles away is a big city, high volume dealer that will sell me the same truck for 26,600 or 1,100$ UNDER X-plan and give me 1000$ more for my trade. The only issue with high volume dealer is they try and up sell you TONS of extra crap/extended warranties.

I qualify for x plan but have never used it. I bought a 2010 f150 and 9 months later traded for a 2011 Ecoboost. Both times payed about $600 dollars under invoice. Which was about half of dealer holdback. X plan couldn't come close. After my dad seen the deal I got when I bought the '10 he bought one to for about the same discount.

I am looking at 2012 F150 and everywhere (for the most part) will negotiate a better deal than the X Plan.

You're crossing the line in alot of dealers when you start talking about "holdbacks". you're lucky enough to see invoice price, and some dealers won't even act like they know what a "holdback is".
