I traded in a 2004 Expedition XLT for my Lariat. The hood was just beginning to rust from the inside-out. I would say the Expedition did not have an aluminum hood.

interesting. I wil have to make sure I dont park in my driveway anytime after July since I have two 70' tall oaks on one side and one on the other...the problem is, I also cant park in my garage...truck doesnt fit (well, if I fold a mirror I'd have an inch to spare but because of where one of the oaks is, it still doesnt work).

2400 f-king dollars for a hood?
The last car I bought was 3000.00, and the hood is perfect!!

I'm sorry, I don't care what the reasons are, that's pathetic...

I just priced a new Ford oem hood for a 2010 F150 from Fordparts.com and it was $719. I only checked one of dozens of sites. I am sure some are higher but some may be less. This does not include shipping/paint/installation.

I love my aluminum hood, been on there for 14 years and there isn't a single dent. A few rock chips but no dents.

Could be worse................

Could be a plastic hood with white plastic for a base............

You guys think the plastic grills chip easily?

They're out there...and a hell of a lot cheaper then 2400.00!
Even aftermarket hoods are 1/3 of that...

A slightly damaged hood can be picked up, repaired, and painted by a decent body-man for less then a grand.
