I have Allstate, bought my truck at 7pm. The next day I totaled it on my way to work at 7am. They replaced the truck with a new one, and with accident forgiveness my rates went down at renewal!

Yeah. I was messing with my radio and went through a red light on a highway. Cop said I got hit at about 75mph. Spun me around into a pole. Truck was amazing though. 8 of the airbags went off and I walked away with a cut from the broken glass.

So I f'ed my truck up pretty bad going down a road in a neighborhood with cars parked on both sides. Car was coming head on trying to play chicken and I was ahead so thought they'd stop but didn't and I swerve and take out the back end of a crappy Nissan truck that's parked. I tear the whole right side of my truck and even get a ticket from the cop for "failure to obtain space." Wtf I told him about the car coming and even a woman outside saw the whole thing and told the cop and he still gives me the damn ticket. Got a quote last Thursday and they say 12k worth of damage!?!? Even more if insurance takes the bill which I don't know if Im going to get dropped cause of my speeding tickets I've just paid to get rid of lol. So tell me what u guys think about the 12k estimate?
If you are paying out of pocket go to reputable body shop and with after market body panels you can have it done for 3-4 grand tops. Obviously you can go to the most expensive, most certified shop but at the end the repair will be the same.
PS if you go through insurance they may salvage tittle the vehicle/ give it a wrecked history making it hard to sell.
I know an individual who too hit a guy that ran a red light because he was texting. He was fine, but she had a shattered back because the cargo inside her car went through the drivers seat...

He left in a aid car, but according to my insurance agent he was just sore. He got a settlement about 1 month after it happened. He was in a dodge ram. He was also running a red light that's why he was going so fast.
The original reason I was posting was my truck had 31,460 in damage. And mine is just a stx 4x4. The op's truck I would think would be closer to 16000 to fix. Being a platinum and all.

12K in damages sounds about right, it is a 50k truck after all even though it shares the same body as a 23k xl. Its surprising that people think damages on expensive vehicles costs nothing.

Yeah I'm sorry but you shouldn't be driving a heavy truck or have a driver license in the first place.

Well I'm sure you've never had a accident. It wasn't like I was screwing around. It was a intersection with two lights. Their are accidents there at least once a day. That's why I didn't get a ticket. So instead of thinking people should lose the privilege to drive because of a accident maybe you should take a bus to avoid us crazy drivers changing stations.
If the guy that hit you was already running a red that means it was red for you for at least a minute. That means you weren't looking at the road for hell knows how long. Why you couldn't see the red from your peripheral vision is also a good question considering how high up the radio unit is.
And it just takes taking of a few dangerous neglectful drivers off the road to save someone else's life.
