Default WOW! Bedrug - No plans to make new Impact liner for 2009-14

I've been reading the various threads on bed liners for my new to me 2014 F150. I'd pretty much decided on the Bedrug, and looking at their site, decided that the newest model, the Impact seemed like the way to go. It seemed like this was a pretty new product, so when I entered the year of my truck, and only saw Chevy and GMC options available, I assumed it was just a matter of time until they would have one available for the LARGEST SELLING TRUCK IN AMERICA! So I sent them a message last night to ask how long it would be until the Impact would be available for the 2009-14 F150s. The exact response I received was:

"I am sorry but we have no plans of making the Impact liner for your truck. Regards, Valeria Hunt"

Wow! Totally unbelievable!

Why is that unbelievable? It is a 5-10 (2009-2014) year old vehicle....If I owned the company, I wouldn't invest time and money into something that isn't going to sell. If people have a 2009-2014, odds are they have already purchased some type of bed liner at this point in time or do not want one. The few people that are like you and want one, doesn't justify the cost to manufacturer it.

On the other note. I have one of the original bedrugs in my truck and absolutely love it!

Then why would they make it for the 07-13 chevys????????
The Bedrug people probably just hate Ford. Wouldn't surprise me, lots of people hate Ford

Because 14-18 chevy/gmc is the same exact part number. The bed of the 07-18 chevy/gmc trucks didn't really change internally.

Also to update to your edit:
They make the impact bed mat for those previous rams (not the entire liner that goes up the walls), which again also is the same part number throughout the years. Ram apparently didn't change the floor outline, but did change the side walls.

So bedrug is maximizing potential profits throughout the overlap years, but not creating anything new for those previous years. Smart business strategy.

naaaa, can't be something as simple as that. they must hate ford, it's the only logical explanation

I guess I would question your contention that only buyers of brand new (or the latest model) vehicles purchase aftermarket products. That has not been my experience with other makes and vehicles. Millions of used vehicles change ownership every year. I would think it is very common for the new owner to possibly want to personalize their vehicle differently that the original owner. And with the F150 being the biggest seller of all trucks, and with trucks typically being much longer lived that most cars, I think they're missing a huge market. But yeah, I'm just guessing, so maybe I'm completely off base. It just struck me as incredibly surprising.

they do, and luckily there are many options available for older trucks. it just so happens that this particular manufacturer no longer feels it is financially feasible to produce new products for old trucks. happens all the time in every facet of your life. samsung is one of the best selling smart tvs available but they are no longer updating 5-10 year old tvs. the first iphone came out 12 years ago and has the same result. as things get older manufacturers move on to the newest thing to make profits.

not true. the F series is the best selling truck but there are 7 or 8 versions of the F series and what fits one, say an F150, will most likely not fit another, like an F350.

-edit-

unless you have a specific need for a bedliner, i.e. kids riding in the back want some cushioning, i highly suggest you look into line-x. it will last forever (lifetime warranty), looks good, functions great and cleans easily.

LIneX is the opposite of a Bedrug. LineX protects the bed, Bedrug or other mats protect what is in the bed.

When I said that I didn't realize that the 07-13 GM beds are identical on the inside to the 14-18's.
