Yeah I thought of that, but you don't really need a lift either for a commuter truck... He says he could afford the 4x4... that'd be the easier route.

It sounds like you want to just level the truck out. If you just want to level that two inches out, hell, go for it. Lots of guys have done it.

And here is where my opinion really starts... If you want to lift it so you can put the bigger tires and look like you can go through a four foot mud hole and look like an imitation 4x, yeah, my preferences say no. But that's just me.

Either way, it is your truck, your money. Do what you want with it.

well thats just it..i have no intentions of ridin thru mud, never ever ever will my truck intentionally be drivin thru mud...but there wil be times when my truck will see dirt roads and maybe have to clear tall grass or small bushes..

my reason for not getting 4X4 is simply because i dont need it..i wasnt willing to pay the $3500+ just for that feature..i live in houston so i will never see snow, rain can be a problem but nothing a 4X2 cant handle and like i stated above it will never see mud(atleast mud higher than a couple of inches)...just figured 4X4 wasnt even worth it for me atleast..dont get me wrong tho, if it didnt cost any more money id have it lol

i dont want it to look like a 4x4 or that it can handle anything offroad..just want it to have a better lookin stance you know? like someone said, i think im just going to level it out and new rims and tires at the same time

Level trucks look better than stock. Lift the front or drop the back, doesn't matter.

As long as you like the look, that's all that matters.

And, AK_cowboy, I like the nose down look. To me, it looks meaner that way. To each his own.

Me to! Plus the nose up look of a leveled truck towing a trailor is embarrasing looking. And consequently bad for steering

Yep, the stance on a truck makes a difference in overall look. Just some little beefier tires can do the trick sometimes too.

I had a Ranger Edge once that it had the taller stance like the 4x4 but was not and looked a lot better than the regular Rangers.

Do not a 4x4 to look tough.

its cool, I mean if you think its cool. Its your truck, you spend cash on it you think what you want to about it. Personally I think every truck should be changed a little bit. Stock trucks look weird
