I couldn't agree more.... AWD F150 Ecoboost 5.0L v8 with RCSB with an AUTO... yes an AUTO just so you could do a boosted launch with ease..... Low 12s on street tires... that is where its at....

If you heard your wife who was never into cars or power get excited after driving a car with as much power as the ZL1 has, you wouldn't second guess the decision either.
That's true, but my wife wouldn't be caught dead driving any Chevy! LoL. But that's awesome man. My wife couldn't care les about cars, unless she's driving it, and she only drives Ford.

My wife is actually a Ford fan also. Her last vehicle was a '08 Explorer Limited and in July she traded it for a '13 Edge Limited. She didn't even consider a Chevy. I was caught off guard with her love for the ZL1. She called me after she test drove it and said, "Don't laugh at me. I want one!" I wasn't going to argue with that. My Porsche Cayman was then traded on it. Now the family can enjoy a badass car with a ton of power and a back seat. It even rocks a car seat in the back for my daughter. My daughter is 22 months old. She LOVES that car. When it starts up, she goes "Whooaa!" My wife was going to go up to the grocery store and my daughter was going with her. My wife had to put a ladder in the garage, so my daughter saw the car in there. Daughter pointed at the car and said, "Car. Car." My wife said, "No, we're taking Mommy's car." My daughter started crying because she wanted to ride in the ZL1. Owning a car like this is all about fun. Either car, the ZL1 or the Shelby, would be fun as hell for me. But the ZL1 is fun for the family. I don't regret the decision even a little bit.

This is the best she could do. I know, it's not a Boss 302, only a new 662 HP GT500. Pin it up and wait till next year.

And I would've gladly lined up my ZL1 to your Roush. According to the Roush website, their '13 Stage 3 Mustang has 565 hp and 505 tq. And even if a drag race was close, that Roush wouldn't stand a chance on a road course. This is assuming that your Roush was an actual Roush Mustang, rather than a Mustang that you built up with Roush parts, which wouldn't make it stock. And buying a Roush Mustang isn't stock, by the way. It's a Mustang modified by a shop. The Shelby would be considered stock, just like the ZL1.

Don't get me wrong. I really like Mustangs a lot. I was really excited about the '13 Shelby. My wife liked the ZL1 more, and since I liked the ZL1 also, I had no problem going that route.
My best quarter mile time with the Roush was a 10.63. I don't think the stock ZL1 could touch that. Now I did see some with some bolt ons that are running low 11's, impressive. My car wasn't stock at all so I guess it is not comparing apples to apples. I don't have anything wrong with Chevy. Just felt like ruffling some feathers lol

In an actual Roush car, not a Mustang with Roush parts you put on it? Which model Roush did you have? That's a crazy time for a "stock" Roush. Sounds more like you had a Mustang and modified it with Roush parts. Yeah, I can see that running faster times. But that's not a stock car. If you ran that time in a bone stock car that came from Roush, then I applaud you. You certainly had a faster car. That still doesn't take away anything from my original post, though, which was saying to not assume you could kill a Camaro with a RCSB EcoBoost that has bolt-ons, because there is a factory Camaro that would still be faster.

Have any pictures of your Mustang?

I said it wasn't stock. Upgraded blower, pulley, inter cooler, full exhaust, Blow By Racing tune, full suspension, drag wheels, etc, etc .... I'm on my phone and do not have any. I'll post some when I get on my laptop. Oh and get your responses in line, I never said anything about killing a Camaro with a RCSB Evoboost. I just said Camaros are slow.

You said it was as stock as my ZL1. My ZL1 doesn't have any upgrades to the blower, pulley, suspension, or anything else. It's just as Chevy built it. And before you say those things don't need to be upgraded, there are a number of guys on Camaro5 upgrading that stuff to bump up the power significantly. So yeah, I would expect a Mustang with the right modifications to be faster than a stock ZL1. But please, don't call that car a Roush Mustang, unless it really was one of their cars. Roush actually has cars with Stage 1, 2, & 3 packages. To say you have a Roush Mustang that's as stock as my ZL1 alludes to you having a stock Roush Stage 1, 2, or 3 Mustang. It does not sound as if that's what you had. Anyway, I bet that car was fun as hell to drive!
