Default Wiper cowl damage

So today I really detailed/washed the truck for the first time and I noticed this damage on the plastic wiper cowl.
Must have come from the factory with this as I don`t see a dealer installing these plugs?

No, not factory. Those retainers have clearly been removed at one time. The marks are from a trim removal tool. Have you had the windshield replaced?

Well, someone worked on something between the factory and you. Windshield may have been damaged in shipping or some other post production issue. Below is an example of what that cowl fastener looks like.

An unskilled, or rushed, or uncaring tech removed the cowl cover for some reason, causing damage and almost pulling the head off the retainer in the lower pic.

That sounds about right... and unfortunately if it wasn't pointed out before taking delivery of the truck, they probably can't/won't do much about it.

The Boys at West Hurr are stand up guys. I sent them the pix and they said to take it in to my local ford dealer and get it fixed and they`ll pay for it
